The Flowers Bloom.The Joy Travels.

After weddings and events, our volunteers gather the flowers, rearrange them into small bouquets and deliver them to elderly neighbors at home, residents of assisted living and nursing homes, patients in hospitals and others on the Eastern Shore who could use a little hope.

From one celebration to another moment of joy

Most event flowers are thrown away the next day. We give them a second one, in four steps.

  1. After the event

    We pick them up

Volunteers collect centerpieces, bouquets and arrangements from the venue, so the bride or planner has nothing to haul home.

  2. Monday, 9 AM

    We rework them

In the Bloom Room, we sort, trim and rebuild the flowers into fresh small arrangements.

  3. Monday morning

    We finish each jar

Every bouquet goes into a jar with a ribbon and a card, ready to be handed to someone.

  4. Monday deliveries

    We share them

The flowers go to hospital rooms, nursing homes and neighbors at home, often with a few minutes of company.

Where the flowers go

Our first thought is always the people who don't get many visitors. We've also brought flowers to the people who care for our community.

  • Assisted living Residents and staff
  • Nursing homes Long-term residents
  • Neighbors at home Elderly and homebound
  • Hospitals Patients and families
  • Cancer centers Treatment rooms
  • Teachers & first responders A thank-you

A small group with a simple idea

Hope Blooms Fairhope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in Alabama, run by volunteers on the Eastern Shore. We work with event planners, florists and private families to repurpose flowers from weddings, parties and events of every kind.

Financial gifts cover what the flowers can't: cards, ribbon and rent for the Bloom Room, where we work every Monday after an event weekend.

Our mission is to bring hope and joy to our community through the repurposing of flowers.
